Amsterdam is a fantastic and must-visit city. From cute houses by the canal to a multitude of museums, here’s what you should do with 24 hours in Amsterdam!

10 am: Do a canal cruise

Start off the day with a canal cruise! This is a great way to see the city, and prices start from 16 euros. We went with Lovers Cruises and loved the experience!

12 pm: Grab a lunch by the water

Right by the canals, there’s a variety of restaurants to choose from. We opted for a burger restaurant, Van Gogh Cafe, right after our cruise.

1:30 pm: Museum time!

Amsterdam has so many unique museums! With the Amsterdam Card, we got free entry to a variety of them, so we had a chance to really explore. Warning though, most close at 5 pm! Go to Amsterdam museum, Van Gogh Museum, and Museum of Our Lord in the Attic.

7:00 pm: Dinner

You can grab dinner by the canals again or at one of the museums! We just had some great food at the Van Gogh Museum.

9:00 pm Visit Red Light District

Perhaps one of Amsterdam’s biggest attraction is its liberal stance on drugs and sex. So check out this area if you like!

Summary:

  • Canal cruise!
  • Museums!
  • Red light district!
